How do I invite Standard Ledger to my R&D Tax incentive portal?

To lodge your R&D registration application on your behalf, Standard Ledger needs access to the AusIndustry R&D Tax Incentive (R&DTI) customer portal. This is a one-off process that you complete yourself.

We ask for this right up front as a precursor to commencing the work. This avoids the pressure of any technical challenges at the point of lodgement.

The Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR) has developed a walkthrough video to take you through both steps. DISR recommends watching it before you begin, to make sure you have everything you need.

Please note: although the instructions for both steps are provided on the business.gov.au website, the steps themselves are completed on two separate websites - the RAM site and the R&DTI portal - as described below.

Step 1 - Set yourself up as principal authority in RAM

You may need to complete this step first, on the ATO’s Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM) website. This sets you up as the principal authority for your company, which allows you to then grant Standard Ledger access to the R&DTI portal in Step 2.

Follow the steps in the Portal access for yourself as principal authority section on the business.gov.au website. This step is completed on the RAM website at info.authorisationmanager.gov.au.

If you’ve already completed this step previously, you can move straight to Step 2.

Step 2 - Authorise Standard Ledger in the R&DTI portal

This step is completed on the AusIndustry R&DTI customer portal at incentives.business.gov.au.

Follow the steps in the Authorising portal access for a tax agency or R&D consultancy section on the business.gov.au website - please use this section specifically, not the “Authorising portal access for an individual tax agent or R&D consultant” section.

When prompted, you will need Standard Ledger’s ABN: 76 602 014 317

Keeping your access up to date

Please note that your authorisation has an expiry date. We recommend checking periodically that Standard Ledger’s access is still active in your portal - if it has lapsed, simply repeat Step 2 above to renew it. If we ever find that access has expired when we need it, we’ll let you know straight away.

If you run into any issues, please reach out to us at rnd_support@standardledger.co and we’ll help you through it.
