Your company uses the Xero accounting software for payroll processing and Standard Ledger as external accountants and payroll service provider.
When joining, you will (usually) have received an Employee Details Form to provide your Tax File Number, Superannuation details etc. It is important to return this Form/details as soon as possible (even prior to your first day) so that we can include you in payroll processing.
If we do not have these details, we cannot process payroll for you.
Talk to your company to confirm details on when Payroll processing takes place for your company.
All employee's should receive an invitation to access / securely log in to Xero’s “My Payroll” employee portal (see more information below).
Use My Payroll to
- request leave
- enter timesheets (if you’re paid casually)
- view your payroll details and payslips
- print a payment summary (aka Group Certificate); and
- change your employment details.
You can find more information here on My Payroll.
(Somewhat confusingly), there is also a mobile App version of this called Xero Me where employees can also request leave, check leave balances and view payslips. You can find more information including download links here for Xero Me.
Changes to details
You can also use the Change of Employee details form for any other changes you may need to notify payroll of.
End of Financial Year: Accessing your Income Statement / Payment Summary / Group Certificate
With the introduction of Single Touch Payroll in 2019 payment summaries (previously known as group certificates) and now called Income Statements will no longer be directly provided by your employer.
Your end-of-year Income Statement is published directly through myGov. This will be prepared and ready for employees by 14 July if your employer has 20 or more employees, or by 31 July if your employer has 19 or fewer employees.
See here for more information.
